Our 21 year old niece, Raechel, was diagnosed last week with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. We are so shocked and saddened this could happen to such a sweet and bright girl - in the prime of her young adult life - but brightened by the hope that the doctor has said this is curable!!!
Her recent engagement to John, an active duty US Marine, as well as the hope of returning to her college studies as a Health and Human Sciences major (pre-med) at Cal-State Fullerton in California provide her inspiration for her quick recovery.
She now begins an in-hospital 28 day chemotherapy process. Although she has two types of medical insurance, we're afraid costs will mount with deductables and non-care incidental expenses for her family.
