Henry Boykin's Heart pump/transplant
Donation protected
If you have been around Zavalla or any other part of deep East Texas any amount of time you probably have met Henry Boykin. Henry has never met a stranger in his life. You might know him for his bbq ribs, you might know him for his days as a basketball ref, you might know him from the dump truck, you might know him from the lake fishing, but once you met him, you were in his heart forever. In 2005 Henry had a heart attack, which was the beginning of this journey. In 2006 Henry was placed on the transplant waiting list. While on this list, with the help of medications, he was able to remain stable. This all changed in 2012 with the onset of pneumonia, which caused him to go into congestive heart failure. In the next 2 years there were many hospital stays & procedures done to correct the problems this caused. In May of this year he was told the damage was irrepairable, and was moved to the top of the transplant list. He is slated for a heart pump in August, which will do the job of a heart until a donor heart is found. This will entail being away from home for 3 to 4 months. Which means additional expenses for medicines, medical supplies, living arrangements, food, etc. Any donations would be beneficial with these expenses, & would be greatly appreciated. May God Bless each of you.
