This Thanksgiving, we received the terrible news that my sister Kristin was diagnosed with breast cancer. While there's still much uncertainty, we do know that it is fairly aggressive and requires multiple rounds of chemotherapy plus surgery over the next 9 months to treat. As a teacher and a single mom, the cost of diagnosing alone has already added up to a significant amount, so we are trying to help relieve the unfortunate financial burden that will accumulate over the course of her treatment. Additionally, the the oncologist warned that the chemotherapy regimen is intense and my sister will most likely be unable to work for the remainder of the school year. My family and I welcome all prayers, well wishes, and good vibes as she fights.
