Buy rice for the hungry families of Margosatubig

Our project focuses on a particularly poor area in the Philippines, the Province of Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur.
During the COVID-19 crisis and total lockdown of the country, many people who rely on their menial paying jobs are left unemployed, without the means to feed themselves or their families. The government only gives small subsidies during periods of distress. However, not only those allowances aren’t sufficient for people to survive, but a lot of people don't receive them because they haven't been legally registered. Therefore, we would like to take action in donating money, a small price for the lives of hundreds.
The funds raised will be fully used to purchase bags of both regular and corn rice to give out to the locals who need it the most. This is a non-profit cause, and the rice will be directly distributed for free throughout villages by our local contacts in Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines.
So far, we have donated 2875kg of both regular and corn rice which has fed over 575 grateful families.
To buy a 25kg bag of corn rice, which will feed 5 families in need, costs only CHF 12. A 25kg bag of regular rice costs CHF 20 and can also feed 5 families.
This is only our small contribution to stop the devastating changes coronavirus has brought worldwide, but we hope you are compelled to help us whether it is by donating or sharing this page with your family and friends.
