Posting the following update straight from Cassie’s Facebook page:
“Im not sure where to start with an update. We met with a fire inspector and technician yesterday at the house and 2 of the insurance agents. We also met with a textile cleaning group here also.
They were all extremely kind and answered lots of our questions.
So at the moment because of insurance and other insurance companies getting involved and the county probably coming back to look also so everyone can verify what happened separately they marked off being able to go near the cause of the fire for evidence. Since fault may have landed with the county inspection and the electric work done there are going to be a lot of people involved.
The plan to start with is next week a textile cleaning company is going to come and take anything salvageable in the house and run it thru a ozone process and all clothes get drycleaned and everything will get packed up and put into storage until the house is fixed. The garage is the only place that will wait until inspections are over and then that room will be done last. They plan on having it done in a day. So the next few days Im going to figure out what we cant live without for the next 3-6 months at least. The things not salvageable Will be left and we will figure that out later.Thank you for the prayers. We are working on collecting some mattresses for the girls to sleep on also at the moment. I know some of you have asked about needs. The main needs at this time are laundry baskets or containers for organizing there things.
Some of those black stackable containers with yellow lids or any plastic bins. We may need some sheets and or mattress covers once I know what size mattresses they will be getting. God is good, His ways are not ours, one step at a time.
Deuteronomy 7:9
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
Andy & Cassie Butts are dear friends who have helped countless people. Now it is our turn to help them! On Friday a fire erupted in their attic causing significant damage to their home. It is not livable right now and their family has been displaced until insurance can come and assess the damage.
There are immediate and long term needs but we wanted to get a fund started to help get them some relief until we know the full cost and extent of the damage and what is to come. This amount will likely increase once we get a better picture of what will be needed to rebuild. Please consider giving in any amount.
