Busy's Vet Bills After Being Maliciously Shot
Donation protected
Our dear busy, a 3 year old Blue heeler, was maliciously shot on our driveway between Cando and Sonningdale, SK.
She was innocently sitting on the driveway, when a truck drove by and shot her before driving off. The blood loss was substantial, and after being shot Josh tried to chase down the truck who did this. When he returned to the yard, busy was gone and the pools of blood remained in various spots around the yard. We searched all night for her, assuming to be only looking for a body by this point.
After a sleepless night and another morning of looking, we were desperate for closure. Family came from Alberta to help search for our dogs body when she was finally found... And alive. She survived 24 hours, hiding and planning to pass away hidden.
We rushed her to North Battleford Animal Hospital. She was shot with a high powered rifle and is suffering extensive tissue damage from both entrance and exit wounds. No vital organs or her spinal cord were hit, however the vet is extremely concerned for the amount of muscle damage, anaerobic infection and emphysema. She made it through surgery and has a drain in place as well as IV antibiotics and hospitalization.
We are praying for her good health. We thank everyone in our community for being so supportive in this awful time for us.
