Burt Family Fundraiser

If you only knew one thing about Andy Burt, it was that he was an amazing dad and all four of his kids' best friend. If you were lucky enough to know more, you knew he was also the very best husband, son, brother, coach, principal, and friend. He was tireless in his service to others, and whether he was in school, on the sidelines or--his favorite place--at home with his kids, Andy's goal was to make you laugh and make life (and learning) fun.

His unexpected death the morning of October 2nd leaves in its wake Andy's wife, Jen, and the four young kids he loved--a heartbroken, shattered family reeling at this sudden loss. Beyond home, Andy's absence will be felt across the entire Southern Utah community.

As an educator, Andy spent the last 11 years working as a principal at Gateway Preparatory Academy in Enoch, Utah, where he mentored thousands of students, parents, and educators. He truly helped shape the school and its staff. He would often visit classrooms in costume, was never afraid to make a fool of himself to fill a class with laughter, and worked tirelessly with children with a variety of struggles. He was a hero to so many children.

In addition, Andy has coached soccer in Cedar City for the past 14 years: rec and club teams, both Canyon View and Cedar High Schools and, even, Southern Utah University. He was an inspiring coach who brought out the best in every player both on and off the field.

Andy truly had an impact in this community every single day. To say will be missed is an understatement.
