Building Our Self-Sufficient Family Village

Don protégé
We are a family of 7—2 parents and 5 children—learning how to rebuild stability after years of instability. We’ve experienced what it feels like to move through survival: shelters, temporary housing, and seasons where we were simply trying to hold everything together. Even now, our focus is not on comfort—it is on creating something that cannot easily be taken away from us again. We are not asking for anyone to build our life for us. We are building the foundation ourselves. Our first step will be purchasing our own RV so our family can transition into a more mobile, stable living situation while we prepare for the next phase. After that, we will be purchasing our own land in Arizona—land where we will begin building something permanent and intentional. What we are creating is called Uniquely Divine Family Village. This is not just a home. It is a vision rooted in nature, simplicity, and long-term stability. We are building a self-sufficient cob-based homestead village, designed to grow slowly and naturally with the land itself. The structure will include: a main cob-built family home using natural earth materials, separate dome-style spaces for our older children, and a layout inspired by a small village rather than a single house, so our children grow up with both privacy and connection. Everything will be designed to work with nature, not against it. We are building systems that support life naturally: rainwater collection systems designed for the Arizona environment, sustainable energy systems including solar power and lighting, eco-friendly waste systems, and food-growing spaces where we can learn to live directly from the land. This is not about escaping life. It is about learning how to live more connected to it.

We are handling the foundation steps ourselves—purchasing the RV, transitioning our family, and securing land. Where we are asking for support is in the building phase: water system equipment, solar and lighting systems, basic construction tools, materials needed for cob building, and infrastructure that helps us turn land into a livable home. As the homestead grows, Uniquely Divine Family Village will also become a space for learning and teaching. We plan to eventually host small, hands-on workshops focused on natural cob building, sustainable living systems, water collection and off-grid basics, and living in harmony with nature—not as a business first, but as a way of sharing what we are learning as we build. This is about more than building a house. It is about breaking a cycle where families are constantly starting over. We want our children to grow up in a place that feels grounded, stable, and connected to nature—not uncertain or temporary. We are choosing to build slowly, intentionally, and with respect for the land and the life we are creating. If you choose to support us, you are not just helping build a home. You are helping build a foundation for a family to finally stop starting over. If you cannot give, sharing our story still helps us more than you know. Thank you for taking the time to understand our journey.
