Hello,

I (Tyler Evans) and Derick Flowers are the advisers for Paul Revere Middle School's Black Student Union (BSU) club. As we have watched throughout our nation, millions of people have been raising their voices and protesting in response to the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and the continuous problem of unequal justice. These historic events are teachable moments for our students and community members. Educating ourselves and our students on systematic racism can help bring awareness and change. We believe that we need to take this opportunity to teach the children so they can learn beyond the instructional goals of the classroom.  Understanding that some lessons cannot be fully measured immediately, we can continue to plant seeds of integrity, honesty, respect, and responsibility.  To show that we, as a community, stand against racism and social injustices, we would love to paint a mural with a powerful message, invite speakers to our school, host events, implement programs, and continue to show our community is dedicated to making a positive change. 


We need your help!! Paul Revere’s Black Student Union (BSU) club would greatly appreciate your support to help support this project. We need your assistance to offset the costs of the mural and projects for the upcoming school year.  Our goal is to have the mural completed before the next school year for our students to enjoy upon their return to campus.

BSU has been around for 3 years and we continue to help our students promote unity, build a secure space and a sense of community, acknowledge and understand African American History, and aim to build leaders to contribute to student success.
