Support Brodie Swanstrom's new liver & new life.

About two and a half months ago, Brodie made the decision to put himself into treatment for alcohol addiction. This was a goal of his for a long time and he completed treatment successfully. He was in such good spirits and feeling so hopeful and proud of his amazing accomplishment and the opportunity to live a sober, healthy life. Shortly after going home, his liver began to fail. He had to be admitted to the hospital for extensive care. He is now in end stage liver failure and is currently in the ICU at Essentia, waiting to be transported to Mayo Clinic for an emergency liver transplant. He has been deteriorating rather quickly but we are hopeful that he will be blessed with a new liver in the coming days. Another unfortunate hurdle is that his kidneys have also begun to fail and are functioning at under 30% currently and he may need dialysis in the near future.

He is undergoing a paracentesis now and receiving blood transfusions. He is heavily sedated and in and out of consciousness. Luckily he has not needed to be intubated yet and is only requiring supplemental oxygen sometimes. The hope is that his body can rest to be as strong as possible for the liver transplant.

Anybody that knows Brodie knows that he would drop everything for anyone in need. He is an incredible friend and is loved by so many. He deserves to live a long, healthy, and sober life.
