Brisendine Babies Surgery & Hospitalization

Update 5/24/23: There are teeny tiny babies now in the world! On Monday May 22nd Brooklin was sent to the hospital for signs of Preeclampsia. Luckily, they ruled this out quickly but had to keep her for observation and thank goodness they did! Within a couple of hours she was wisked back for an emergency c-section due for the safety of one of the babies. So far mom and babies are doing well, but with being nearly 10 weeks early they have a long road ahead of in the NICU. Welcome to the world Beckham & Rylee!

At the end of 2022 my Brother Joe and Sister-in-law Brooklin found out they were expecting Di-Tri Triplets. Taking them from a family of four to a family of seven overnight. This instantly moved them to the high risk category. This last Wednesday, at only 25 weeks, they had an ultrasound saw signs of TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) this condition increases the volume of blood causing the recipient twin (Baby C) to produce more than the usual amount of urine, which can result in a large bladder, too much amniotic fluid (known as polyhydramnios) and hydrops, a prenatal form of heart failure. Brooklin was presenting with almost all symptoms, putting her at a stage 4 out of 5. They were immediately sent to Houston, from Oklahoma City, to the Texas Children’s Fetal Center for a corrective surgery.

Surgery went smoothly, all babies survived the procedure. All heartbeats were strong and the doctors were confident that the surgery went well. Unfortunately, the next morning Baby B couldn’t handle surgery and they could not longer find a heartbeat. Baby A is doing great. Baby C is stable for now, but has some underlying heart conditions due to the TTTS.

As of right now, there is a lot of uncertainty. Brooklin and babies will need to be monitored closely and an extra early delivery is still a very high possibility. With all of this stress comes an additional financial concern. Without Brooklin’s income and the added hospital expenses it is going to be difficult to cover all regular bills.

Any little bit you are able to contribute will be appreciated more than you know! Thank you for taking the time to read their story and I ask that you share it with at least one other person.
