It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking loss of Samuel Esteban Navarrete Yanquen, a 16 year old expected to graduate in May 2027. After his parents were deported back to Colombia Samuel was left in the United States without them. Despite the challenges he continued to push forward. He was welcomed into the home and cared for by his best friend's family who gave him love and support. At just 16 years old Samuel was balancing school and working not only to support himself but also to send money back home to his mother, Diana. While many teenagers his age were simply enjoying their high school years Samuel was working toward a better future and doing everything he could to make his parents proud. Sadly, his life was taken far too soon leaving behind a heartbroken family, friends, classmates, and a community that will forever remember him. No parent should have to experience the pain of losing a childespecially while being thousands of miles away. Samuel spent his days working hard to make his parents proud, and now we want to do everything we can to bring him back home to them one last time. We are asking our community to come together to help raise funds to transport Samuel's body back to Colombia where he can be reunited with his parents and finally be laid to rest surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Every donation no matter how big or small will help bring Samuel one step closer to home. If you are unable to donate we kindly ask that you share his story and keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
