Hello, my name is Rebecca
I am the mother of these 3 beautiful saluki dogs whom are currently stuck in the Middle East waiting on me to raise funds to have them join me on the farm I grew up on in Australia.
Long story short I was a Covid casualty with my prestigious and specialized position in the Arts.
Instead of returning home I stuck it out and started my own business in the middle of the pandemic on a hope and a prayer, sinking all my savings into it. I was part way through a supplementary contract with a regional Opera that was due to support the cash flow and due to the global crisis the government shelved to project leaving me unable to financially maintain the overheads. The business collapsed. I became sick with stress and for several years tried to find new alternatives in an industry that was not recovering.
I kept my dogs well looked after whilst I struggled to make ends meet.
Consecutive knee injuries meant I struggled to walk these beautiful creatures that needed to run off lead for 2 hours a day.
With the unrest in the region and my need for family and medical support I returned to the family home of 55years.
Heart wrenching as it was I had to leave them, in care that costs, until I’m strong enough to work and raise the money to bring them to Australia, to the farm, to a place where they are safe and can run all they want.
Despite Drs orders I have chosen not to spend money on a knee operation and am healing naturally. It is a slow process but I am making improvements in my mobility.
this is a 6month plan to work in with Quarantine regulations and give me time to get back into work and raise money to send them. The cost for three dogs is near 40,000aud.
I don’t know how I will achieve this but from here I do everything to heal and get a job or find a way to re start my business.
I am positive that this will happen and my kids will be home with me but I need your help too.
