Bring Joy to Alaska: Grandma Joy's Road Trip

Joy Ryan, better known as "Grandma Joy," and her grandson Brad Ryan are closing in on their six-year mission to visit every National Park in the United States. Their ambitious quest began with a road trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 2015 when Grandma Joy climbed her first mountain at age 85.
In the past six years, this intergenerational duo has driven over 40,000 miles and visited 53 out of 63 U.S. National Parks on their bucket list. Grandma Joy just turned 91, and after a year of social distancing, she is finally vaccinated and ready to hit the road one last time.
Eight of the ten U.S. National Parks remaining on this epic intergenerational journey are located in the remote wilderness regions of Alaska including: Denali National Park & Preserve, home to the tallest mountain in North America, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, Glacier Bay National Park, Lake Clark National Park, Katmai National Park, Kobuk Valley National Park, and Gates of the Arctic National Park.
The Alaska leg of Grandma Joy's Road Trip is the most logistically complex and expensive of all their adventures to date. Most of the Alaskan National Parks are only accessible by private charter flights, and all donations raised through GoFundMe will be used to support their travel costs. Grandma Joy's Road Trip has been fueled by the generosity of supporters from the very beginning, and with the finish line in sight, they are graciously requesting your help to "Bring Joy to Alaska."
