10000 Bottles of Art on a Wall
Donation protected
Help us install 100 feet of fencing covered with 10,000 bottles cut and painted into blossoms for ArtPrize 2014. Panels will be attached to the decorative fence around the Kent County Courthouse in Grand Rapids Michigan. Titled: "Dancing on Joy's Horizon: Building Communities," Students from Michigan,South Carolina, Orlando's United Cerbral Palsy, Trinity Preparatory School, Winter Springs High School, as well as friends and family across the country contributed bottle blossoms for this project. So many donated their work to make the panels possible it takes my breath away. I thought 10,000 bottles was just a pipe dream.
John's schedule tightened due to beginnng radiation treatments. We are crating and shipping the panels and flying to install the panels on September 19th. We need your help with the shipping and travel expenses.
To me, transforming trash into art the perfect metaphor of hope and redemption. I am so excited that hundreds of thousands of visitors to ArtPrize will experience that message through our project, as well as the hundreds who dug bottles out of their recycled bins and turned them into colorful blooms.
I knew from the beginning I could not do this alone. Now we need some financial help toward the finish line. Please participate if your heart desires and you are able, and share this request in social media. Contribute at http://www.gofundme.com/bridging-communities
