Brendon Wheelock's Battle
Don protégé
Dear friends, family, and loved ones,
As most of you know, in October of 2016, our Uncle Brendon was diagnosed with appendiceal cancer. Fortunately, the doctors caught it in time and were able to perform a successful surgery. Fast forward to the fall of 2018, Brendon was feeling discomfort and went in for scans. He soon learned the cancer was back, only this time it was significantly more aggressive. The doctors informed Brendon that he needed surgery and chemotherapy treatment immediately, and they agreed to move forward. Unknown to Brendon at the time, his health insurance had been revoked.
On November 1st, the doctors performed a nine-hour surgery and a chemo wash. They were able to remove multiple tumors. However, due to the location of the tumors, they had to cut his femoral nerve, which caused him to lose mobility in his right leg. A day before being discharged from the hospital, Brendon learned his lymph nodes had tested positive for cancer. He was later diagnosed with stage four. He has since been in and out of the hospital for numerous procedures, and he recently started a rigorous chemo treatment that will last six months.
Brendon has devoted his entire life to his family, farming, and ranching. He has two little boys and another baby due in February. He is an incredible father, son, partner, brother, friend, and uncle. He farms and ranches in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, but the cancer has prevented Brendon from working for the past four months.
Uncle Brendon has always been there for us without expecting anything in return. He is first in line to help when crisis strikes. He is the strongest person we know, and it is our turn to be strong for him. Please help us support Uncle Brendon kick cancers ass.
Thank you for your support.
