Brenda's Cancer Battle

One of our Flight Attendants,   Brenda Nicholas, has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of Ovarian Cancer.  She is at Stage 4.  
If you know Brenda or ever have flown with her you know she is a sweet soul and one of the most beautiful people you will ever want to know.  
Here is her story in her own words.  


My counselor’s name is Diane Propis. She is helping me make peace with the possibility that I may not win this battle

Here is my story.

Late one night, I went to the ER with a slight pain on my right side, thinking it was a hernia or maybe my appendix. After examinations, cat scans, and an ultrasound, they diagnosed me as having a mass in my abdomen. I had surgery to remove it a few weeks later. While I was recovering in the hospital, my Oncologist came in, and told me it was cancerous. It had started in my right ovary.
I had cancer.
Upon reviewing my pathology report, they said it was Stage 4, Ovarian Cancer. I was devastated. My life went to being carefree, fun, and full of adventures, to fighting for my life.

Since my diagnosis just a few short months ago, my life has been filled with blood tests, scans, and appointments with many different specialists. I’d give anything to be that carefree girl again, but my life will never be the same.

My prognosis is bleak, but I have to fight. And I have to keep on fighting until there is no more fight left in me.

Please consider helping me with my battle. I have incurred thousands of dollars in medical bills, that are not covered by insurance.

I also ask that you keep me in your prayers, send me positive thoughts, and even a word or two of encouragement. I’m not ready to leave this Earth yet.
