The Penticton community, the world of free style skiing and our nation have lost a beautiful bright and talented young man. Brayden Kuroda died suddenly on Monday February 17th at the age of 19. His passing is incomprehensible to the family and community.
If you had the privilege of knowing or meeting Brayden you would agree with Freestyle Canada's description of him as a very special young man. His infectious smile and passion for the sport of Freestyle skiing were inspirational. He always found the time to give back, underscoring how important it was to him personally to be a good role model on and off the hill and to encourage young athletes to reach their goals.
His work ethic, passion and natural talent were all contributing to propel him quickly through the Freestyle pathway. Brayden was the third highest Canadian on home soil at the World Cup in Calgary recently as his parents watched proudly from the bottom of the course.
“Our hearts are crushed with the immeasurable loss of this effervescent, bright, talented young man,” stated Freestyle Canada in their social media post.
The hearts, thoughts and prayers of our entire community go out to Brayden’s family, team mates and friends – most particularly Ken and Berva Kuroda, his ever loving and proud Mother and Father.
All money raised from this campaign will go directly to Brayden's family. It will cover any necessary costs associated with his passing and help ease the weight of the world from their shoulders in this heartbreaking time.
