Help Us Get Brant to MD Anderson Cancer Center

Emily and Brant are in the process of getting him into the nation’s top cancer center, MD Anderson in Houston, TX. These specialists are among the best in the world, but the process isn’t going to be cheap. We are once again reaching out to our friends and family for help. We love and appreciate everything that you guys have done for us, but his fight is far from over.

UPDATE 4: After Brant’s first break from treatment, he has several new lesions on his bladder and lymph nodes near his lungs. This cancer is a beast, but we will not be disheartened. His treatments will restart and we have no doubt that God will help him beat this monster!

UPDATE 3: COMPLETE REMISSION. The words we’ve been praying for!! Due to the intense aggressive nature of this type of cancer, Brant will continue on treatments indefinitely with periods of rest. He still misses a lot of work as a result. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!! God is the ultimate healer!!

UPDATE 2: Brant has begun another round of treatment. This round will consist of Padcev and Keytruda. So far he is tolerating the treatments fairly well, but is still missing a lot of work. The mass in his bladder was blocking the ureter resulting in decreased kidney function. It was removed and function in his remaining kidney seems to be improving. Even though his prognosis isn’t great, he continues to fight with a fierce tenacity that is admirable. Brant and Emily thank you for all of your support. It means the world to them.

UPDATE: We are sad to report that the cancer has returned. Brant’s latest scans show that it has metastasized to his lungs and retroperitoneal lymph nodes. This changes his diagnosis to Stage 4 Advanced Urothelial Carcinoma. He will undergo a biopsy and ureteral stent placement in the next few days. He will then begin a new treatment regimen. This is going to be a long and difficult process. Emily and Brant want to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts for all of your love and support. As most of you know, Brant was diagnosed with Urothelial Carcinoma of the renal pelvis in Dec 2023. His kidney was removed and because of the rarity and aggressive form of the cancer he will now undergo chemotherapy. Needless to say, he is missing a lot of work and medical bills are piling up.
