BOJ (The Book of Job) -The journey of a man named after the prominent biblical figure and the parallels he discovered through surviving a stroke.

What originated as a one-man play meant to premiere last summer (2020) in the NY Theatre Festival evolved into this short film due to the pandemic and theatre closing down the world.

Documenting my journey with a stroke and developing it into a film has been one of the most cathartic and emotional journeys of my life. My intention is to spread the word about stroke victims and the trials they go through in their recovery but also to give a voice to the disabled and how this country sometimes misinterprets disabled individuals and inadvertently dismisses their needs. With my master's in social work, I hope to speak publicly and give motivational speeches about my journey and how we can effectively deal with the medical community creating more accessible care for all individuals in all scenarios. Disabilities vary and are individually based. We need more comprehensive care and more support.

Your donations will go towards submissions to festivals, personal appearances speaking to interest groups and showing my film to a broad audience such as people with disabilities, health organizations, insurance companies and medical professionals. I want to spread my message and encourage a holistic approach to medicine and how we can connect the patient to full standards of care.

Up until now, I have funded this film myself and it truly has been a labor of love. I know things are difficult world wide and we are all trying to find ways to cope and heal through this time, but if you could find it in your hearts to donate anything, it would be greatly appreciated and I would be forever in your debt. I am hoping to fundraise through the month of January.

My journey has just begun as I reach out to more and more people spreading the promise of hope and survival with my film and my voice. As I say in my film, "We are all survivors," and as a community I want this film to be a representation of what we go through when dealing with the medical community and solidify that we all deserve healthcare and an altruistic comfort. We are all one. Each and every one of us.
