For the Love of Food

My name is Stephen Larson. I am the chef/owner of QUARTER/quarter Restaurant located in Harmony, MN and I am here to ask for your help. I've been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and I have weathered many storms in my career, but in the 4 1/2 years that Q/q has been open, things have never looked so bleak as they do right now. Business has been devastatingly slow for the first 6 months of 2014. As the sole owner/manager, the responsibility for the health of the restaurant lies squarely on my shoulders. My current challenge is coming up with the $12,594 in back taxes, bank loans and over due debts that must be paid by the end of the first full week in August in order to keep the restaurant open.
I have vowed to my employees, and to all of those in the community who have already shown their unwavering support, to do everything in my power to keep QUARTER/quarter operating. I wouldn't ask unless the situation was dire and all my other resources have been exhausted, hence my plea to you all.
On a positive note, the news isn't all grim. I just need some financial support to be able to hang on a bit longer while business begins to rebound.
Many people have told me that it's important a nice restaurant like mine exists in a tiny town like Harmony, not just to provide jobs and a fine dining alternative to the usual small town fare, but also as an attraction to help boost our fledgling tourist economy. It would break my heart to disappoint all those who believed in me and have entrusted me with their support. Food is my art, it is my passion, and it is the expression of my love to others. Please help me save QUARTER/quarter Restaurant and keep that light burning brightly. Thank you.
