Samples Medical Fund

On Friday,  Feb 2, 2018, 4-year old Bishop Samples was diagnosed with the flu & pneumonia.  He was sent home to rest & recover.  His condition improved until Sunday night Feb 4th when he began to take a turn for the worse.  His parents, Joey & Tosha, took him to the ER in Rome & Bishop was admitted to the hospital.  The flu & pneumonia had begun to attack little Bishop's heart.  Monday morning Bishop was air-lifted to Atlanta to Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital.  The Doctors immediately began treatment to stabilize him and Monday afternoon he was moved to Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta.  Currently Bishop is still at Egleston where he is in stable condition.  The Drs. are keeping him heavily sedated so that his body can rest & heal. He is on strong meds to get the flu & pneumonia under control.  When he is well enough the Drs. will begin treatment for his heart.  Tosha & Joey will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House at Egleston.  Like most Mothers would, Tosha has been at the hospital with Bishop & does not want to leave him.   Joey has been going back & forth from Atlanta to Rome to check on their (5) other children - Jameelah, Joey, Javon, Javia & Jaylah.  Neither  Tosha or Joey are working at this time becuase they want to be with their baby.  I know I would feel the same way!!  This will be their life for many weeks to come.  

This fund is set up to help with Bishop's ongoing medical expenses, the costs of allowing Joey & Tosha to be with little Bishop while he recovers and to help offset the costs of care for Bishop's siblings while Joey & Tosha remain in Atlanta.

The road to recovery will be a long one - but with prayers & the help of family & friends we all believe Bishop will be completely healed!
