Bills Cancer Journey

In January 2017 we received the unfortunate news that our dad would lose his job of 25 plus years. After months of experiencing excruciating lower back pain our dad went to St. Marys Hospital in February 2017 to have an MRI performed on his lower back. Unfortunately the MRI showed multiple lesions on his spine. This lead to multiple blood tests and a CT scan, which later showed spots on his liver, rib cage, hip and spine. A biopsy was done on his liver which determined it to be bile duct cancer. There will be ongoing tests, radiation, chemotherapy and possible surgeries to  treat this cancer. The combination of the lesions and the tumors have left him with roughly 50-60 percent of his L2 (lumbar second) vertebrae which has left him in pain and disabled. With this news and ongoing treatments it is very unlikely, and sad to say, that there is a chance our dad will not be able to work again.
