On October 25th, Bill Downing’s life was tragically cut short as the result of an accident while working on his truck. For those of you that knew Bill personally, you know we all lost a truly great man.
Much like his father, Bill was a “man’s man”. But inside that tough exterior, was a kind, funny, and strong man, devoted to his family. He loved his family dearly and had a special place in his heart for animals. Bill was an avid Cavs, Browns, Indians and Ohio State fan. His presence will continue to be felt through his sons who described him as “badass” who taught them how to be men, loving, caring and strong. His daughter described him as kind, funny, strong and patient. Bill was always there for his family, no matter what. He never judged them and was only understanding and supportive.
Bill will also be remembered for his love for his wife, Barbara. She has a lot of great memories of fun times through their years together. She said he was an amazing husband and an amazing father. He was always by her side, taking care of her. Bill had just retired and they celebrated 48 years together.
We, (his siblings and immediate family) have had many people ask us what they can do to help during this sorrowful time They have had a rough time over the years but especially the last two years after Barb's car accident.
In lieu of flowers we are asking you to please donate to help with the funeral expenses and with Barbara’s path to healing.
