Bike ride to support the BC children's hospital
On June 15th 2021 I began a self-supported bikepacking adventure across the second largest country in the world with approximately 8000km of dirt and gravel, Canada.
I began my journey in Victoria, BC on the Pacific coast and from there I’m following sections of the Trans Canada trail, heading east towards the Atlantic ocean. On my route I intend on navigating as much gravel and dirt trails as possible, staying off the main highways is a goal and raising awareness and support for BC children's hospital is another.
My friends and neighbors, the Bussell family have recently been recipients of the kindness and generosity of the BC children's hospital and I would like to show them, and the children's hospital that they have our support though trying to generate awareness and funds to help them and other families like there's to be at their happiest and healthiest.
This is a little of their experience:
Hey Chris,
Multiple doctors across different departments of BC childrens hospital have been instrumental in supporting the complex symptom diagnosis and treatment for our 2yr old daughter, Nicky. She has had a periodic fever syndrome in the midst over covid since before she turned 1yr. She has been flown via air ambulance from Trial to Vancouver and undergone surgery to remove some swollen lymph nodes in her neck. Her condition, which at one stage was thought to be PFAPA, is still not fully diagnosed. BC children's hospital have arranged specialized lab work to be performed even outside of Canada to try to diagnose and treat Nicky. Thank you for your support of BC Childrens.
Please donate to my latest GoFundMe by clicking the donate link and share with all of your friends.
Happy trails.
Chris
