Hi — I'm Ed Garner, a Placitas resident raising funds to help my neighbors stop a proposed 75-foot cell tower at 221 NM-165, right above one of our community's main gathering places.

A 75-foot industrial tower would loom over the corner where neighbors eat dinner outside and listen to summer concerts, dominate views from hundreds of homes, and break the rules the County wrote to protect this area's character.

Update — August 20, 2026: the County Commission approved the tower.

In May, the Planning & Zoning Commission denied it unanimously, after hundreds of neighbors wrote in and filled the room. The applicant appealed, and on August 20 the Commission reversed that denial.

This fight was never going to end at the County. The case belongs in court, and we're ready to take it there — but this only moves forward if we move forward together. Our appeal has to be filed by September 18.
