Bentley for Christmas

Donation protected
November 28th, Bentley went in for surgery to get his tonsils and adenoids removed. The surgery went well and a couple hours after, Bentley was discharged and went home to rest. November 29th, Bentley started having a high fever, which was told to Whitney and Kody that's normal. December 1st, Bentley got worse and started complaining of right arm pain and leg pain. Whitney took him into the emergency room and they did tests and placed him on antibiotics. Bentley was discharged home again. On December 2nd, the doctor called Kody and stated they needed to get Bentley to children's ASAP. His blood culture came back and showed bacteria in his blood. Once they got to children's they ran more tests and made Bentley comfortable. Bentley was immediately admitted. The doctors realized that Bentley was swelling and the antibiotics were not helping as they wanted them to. An orthopedic doctor came in and looked at Bentleys joints and wanted an MRI scheduled to check in bones may of been affected by the infection causing the swelling and pain. December 3rd, Bentley was transferred to Children's Minneapolis where an orthopedic team was waiting to care for Bentley.

Around 11:45am Bentley went in for his MRI. They had to sedate him and while sedating him, his respirations began to increase rapidly. This caused him to be intubated for his comfort. The MRI showed the infection was all over his body and Bentley was septic.

Around 4:00 Bentley was brought back for an emergency surgery to drain the pockets of fluid in his elbow and hip. They found a lot of pus and drained it from his hip.

As of 9:45pm Bentley is doing great! He is on a ventilator and will be for a couple days, he is on several antibiotics and in the best care of Children's staff.

We are asking for as many prayers as he can get! The last 12 hours has been crucial for Bentley, mom and dad. We thank everyone who has prayed with us and lifted Bentley up. We continue to pray and hope for a fast recovery for B
