I love a good challenge. I love riding my bike, And I think our mental health is one of the most important things we have. When I combined all of these things I came up with this.

What I am attempting to do is Break the current Fastest Known Time on the BC epic 1000 cycling route from Merritt to Fernie, BC. The current record is 2 days, 16 hours and 45mins. I foolishly stated early on that I thought I could break the 2 day mark. After looking more into the route and its demands, I realized this would be a statement that borders on delusions of grandeur. But what's a challenge without the risk of not being able to complete it?

 

So, at roughly 9 pm Tuesday, June 14th, I will set out from Merritt, and we'll all find out just how much of a challenge this will truly be.

 

The world we live in today is not an easy one. Talking to someone to help you navigate, protect and improve your

mental health should not be something anyone should be ashamed of or feel like they need to "go it alone".
