Bella2Nepal - World Challenge 2018
My name is Bella and I am a 15yo student from Melbourne. In July 2018 I will be going to Nepal as part of a 3 week World Challenge Expedition.
This will involve trekking, cultural immersion and working on a community project, alongside locals to help provide a brighter future.
A major part of World Challenge is that participants are to raise their own funds for the expedition.
I've been babysitting and doing some admin work and fund raising - all of which will go directly towards my participation in this expedition and most importantly, towards our community project.
Our team will soon be deciding on a community project, which may involve assisting the locals with much needed renovation tasks or assisting in the construction of buildings, establishing clean water and waste supplies and creating vegetable gardens. We will have the opportunity to work with families who live off the grid but who also live in extreme poverty.
Nepal is one of the least developed countries in the world, with a literacy rate of only 56.6% (71.6% of males and 44.5% of females), we are striving to in some way help improve this.
The more I raise, the more I can contribute to our community project.
