Beer's Emergency Vet Visit

This afternoon, our AKK, Beer (or Bubby, as he loves to be called) ate some of my medication that is extremely toxic to dogs. He ended up ingesting 7 times the amount of the toxicity level for a pup his size.

I took him immediately to our family vet and he was treated with vomit-inducing medication, fluids, activated charcoal and an antidote. However, our vet doesn't do overnight monitoring, so he had to be transferred to an extremely expensive emergency vet on the other side of town.

The doctors still aren't sure whether he'll pull through, the next few hours are going to be very hairy. We're trying our best to remain positive, but we're terrified.

This entire ordeal sprung on us so suddenly, it is awful, and it has come at a horrific time for us financially. We returned from overseas on Tuesday and our ENTIRE savings went into that trip. Our bank account is empty until the morning, and even then, all of that paycheck has to go to double rent. I feel awful asking for financial help, it's not in either of our nature, but we don't have a choice right now. Beer is our family, he's our son, we can't lose him - I will do anything to save him, including somewhat embarrassingly asking for money on the internets.

As cliche as it sounds, any amount is incredibly appreciated. We've seen the generosity that the Klee Kai family is capable of, I'm just hoping it can help our baby, too.
