About three months ago, Becky was celebrating the amazing news that her mother was cancer free. After a hard fought battle with breast cancer, she was finally well! After all that her mother went through, it was important for her to consider her own health. She went in for a screening and got the unbelievable news that she, too, has breast cancer.
The last three months have been so hard, an emotional roller coaster of high hopes and optimism and emotional lows and uncertainty. But, Becky's faith is strong. Alongside her husband, Luis (Louie) Guardiola, and their two beautiful daughters, Emy (10) and Lilly (8), they are determined to win this battle. There is a long road ahead of them, but the determination, the commitment, and the love is strong.
The financial burden they are facing is overwhelming. Even with insurance, the cost of treatment and procedures will be high. I felt compelled to do what I could to help this amazing family that I love like my own.
Becky and her medical team are preparing for a double mastectomy. The preparation, the procedure, and the follow up will be taxing on their family, and on their financial resources. In short, they need our help to make sure that Becky can focus on her health and recovery without fear and uncertainty.
