My name is Oluwademilade, and I am raising funds for my cousin, Eri. Eri has been fighting for her life since the day she was born, and our family has been doing everything possible to give her the care she needs. Today, we are reaching out because we can no longer carry this burden alone.

Eri’s Medical Journey

At birth, doctors discovered a swelling on Eri’s lower back. She was diagnosed with spina bifida, a condition that affects the spine and the nerves controlling movement in the lower body. She had her first surgery before she was even three months old.

Soon after, her head began to grow unusually large. She was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, requiring another urgent surgery. Within months, the swelling returned, and a shunt had to be placed to help drain the excess fluid. Since then, she has lived with constant monitoring and repeated hospital visits.

Because of the nerve damage caused by spina bifida, Eri has no control over her urine or stool, and she depends entirely on diapers. The spina bifida also affected the nerves in her legs and feet, leading to clubfoot, a condition where the foot twists out of position. Her clubfoot is a direct result of the spina bifida, and she requires continuous physiotherapy to help her mobility.

Later, doctors discovered a pelvic dislocation. She has already undergone one surgery, and we are waiting for the hospital strike to end so she can have the second surgery she urgently needs.

Why This Matters Deeply

Eri is a child with a bright spirit and a strong will to live. She deserves the chance to grow, to walk, to learn, and to experience childhood without constant pain. As a family, we want her to have a future filled with possibilities — not limitations.

We also want Eri to continue her education. She needs special support, learning materials, and a safe environment that understands her medical needs. Education is a gift we want her to have, despite everything she is going through.
