Christina Mae m. Cunanan is just 36 years old and fighting Stage 3a Breast Cancer. This fundraiser is to help support medical expenses for her treatment, including surgery, chemo, radiation and hormone therapy. She is young, and a fighter, and with support she will beat this!

Christina is a much loved sister, daughter, friend, dog caregiver and artist in the Philippines. Her family lost everything in 2020 when their Hotel business went under due to COVID19 travel restrictions and lockdowns. Since then she has been the primary breadwinner and support for her siblings and Mother, holding everything together with her full time job in IT, as well as starting a second job selling baked goods and street food for extra money.

Last summer, (2020), she discovered a lump which her doctor felt should be biopsied. But because of her family's financial situation, and backed up appointments and restrictions because of COVID, she was unable to follow up until this Spring. The diagnosis came back as Carcinoma.

Christina faces continued COVID restrictions in her area, and must stay local to continue to support her family as much as possible. The only treatment she could get locally was a mastectomy, but even the cost of that was more than her family could afford. This fund has so far helped to pay for that surgery and her recovery.

However, now the test results from her tumor are back and were more severe than expected. By the time she got into surgery (there were delays thanks to COVID) the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and her tumor had grown aggressively. She now needs 6 cycles of chemo at least, will need testing to determine if she needs Hormone Therapy, and has no choice but to travel for imaging and possible radiation.

Our starting goal was to cover simply the cost of the surgery, and we did that. But now we need to do more. If she is to be able to afford this, we need to make and exceed the goal we set to start out.

Any amount helps to help her get the treatment that will get her to remission. Please contribute what you can.
