On August 24th, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, fiancé and colleague, James Battaglini, broke his neck in a tragic accident while swimming in the ocean at a beach in Atlantic City, NJ. What can only be described as a miracle, a nearby swimmer came to his rescue and brought him to safety. As it turns out the man was a trauma nurse and James’s guardian angel. James was rushed to the nearest trauma center, underwent emergency surgery, and remains there today.

While we don’t definitively know the next steps, we do know there is a long road to recovery and the support (in any shape or form) from friends and family will be crucial. 

To know James, is to love James. And if you don’t know James, he’s the type of son, brother, friend, fiancé you can only dream of, and he found that special someone in the sweetest and strongest companion, Joanna who has been his second guardian angel on this journey. 

Please help us support James in this time of need.  He brings out the best in everyone around him and has done so much to help others. Now it is our turn to help him and his family.

We are trying to raise as much money as we can for James and Joanna so that they can focus on James’s recovery - and not worry about the bills that will continue to roll in.   Absolutely no amount is too little to contribute.
