My name is Michelle Cuvos, and I am part of a community of Filipino creatives, nurses, and advocates in London. Today, I am humbly reaching out to your hearts.

Recently, Cebu was struck by a devastating typhoon—leaving families displaced, homes destroyed, and thousands struggling to rebuild from the ground up. While the physical damage is overwhelming, the emotional and psychological toll on our kababayans is even greater. Many are left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing when the storm hit.

As Filipinos living abroad, we may be miles away, but our hearts remain deeply connected to home. This is why we created BANGON CEBU, a fundraising movement dedicated to bringing relief, hope, and compassion to the affected communities.

Why We Are Raising Funds

All donations will directly support:

Emergency food and water distribution

Temporary shelter assistance

Hygiene kits and essential supplies

Rebuilding support for families who lost their homes

Local community partners providing on-ground help

We are working closely with trusted volunteers and grassroots organizations in Cebu to ensure every donation goes where it is needed most, especially to the most vulnerable—children, elderly, and low-income families.

How This Project Started

As creatives and nurses, we believe in the power of bayanihan—our unique Filipino spirit of communal unity and compassion. What began as a simple idea to help has now grown into a full movement, involving artists, musicians, nurses, and Filipino community members here in London.

We will also be holding a charity event on December 6, 2025 at Yumenoki Restaurant in London, where Filipino artists will offer music, performance, spoken word, and open mic sessions—all in the spirit of giving.

But we know that the need is far greater than what a single event can raise.
