BACC for the Last Time
Donation protected

Years ago, after suppressing the idea for some time prior, I stepped out with the concept to fuse two things that are dear to my heart: giving and basketball. I wanted to use a basketball event as a draw to bring people together for a good time and provide an easy opportunity for the community to be of service to itself by way of giving. I chose the place where I made a reputable mark on the court and was a part of a small but well-connected fraternity of legacy players. Thus was born B.A.C.C., the Basketball Alumni Charity Classic which is a rivalry game between high school alumni ball players where guests from all over Fauquier County and beyond come bearing "gifts" to brighten the season for others in need.
My initial vision was having this event be annual for at least 5 years, and here we are. The first 4 years (of which the event has been held every December) have been very successful and still bring me great joy when I reflect back. The donations have been noteworthy and fun has been had by all in a way the county has never seen. To be candid though, the 2017 event saw a noticeable dip in attendance despite sharp planning, preparation and execution. The end result was still good in terms of our donation goal but I truly feel compelled to restore the crowd size to that of previous years and have just the idea!
I need your help though! This year, we are scratching out small sponsorships and instead want to crowd-fund this event. This will, first off, ensure that the demand and excitement for the event remains. But it also will allow for a grand finale of the series to take place as we close it out in a way we've never done prior. All funds will cover the event expenses (ie. jerseys, officials, on-site entertainment) and make the final B.A.C.C. game special! A simple but highly beneficial opportunity for a themed non-monetary donation AT the event will remain, the same way we have donated food, toys, coats and etc in the past.
So please donate and let's hit this goal! And as added motivation, special event t-shirts will be provided for anyone contributing $50 or more (so please leave your name/contact if applicable).
Should you opt out or should we not reach the goal, I still thank you for your time and any past participation. And for anyone with any detracting thoughts like "Well couldn't these funds go directly to the charity rather than the charitable event costs?"...please know that ALL charitable events and organizations that galvanize people for a greater good have overhead costs. It's an investment of time and resources to generate giving that otherwise wouldn't take place. But the choice is yours! It's all love!
(Please note: contributing to this campaign has nothing to do with participating in the game as a player or otherwise and grants you no creative control over the event.)
