On April 7, 2023, baby Winter Rose Wimberly was welcomed into this world early at 31 weeks, weighing only 3 lbs 0 oz. Winter’s mommy, our own beloved St. Anthony’s teacher Christina Wimberly, was hospitalized for 4 long weeks and fought so hard through multiple complications to give Winter life!
So far, baby Winter has been an amazing patient and NICU rockstar! But because she was so tiny at birth, her doctors anticipate it may be up to 2 months before she can leave the hospital. Mommy Christina is grateful to be back home with her family (Daddy, Big Sister and Big Brother), but is keeping busy traveling back and forth from the hospital to be with baby Winter.
As you can imagine, the strain of Christina’s lengthy hospitalization, and Winter’s birth and hospitalization, have been both emotionally and financially taxing. The donations made through this GoFundMe will help cover their medical expenses and hopefully provide some financial relief for the family during this difficult time.
As so many of you know, Christina is our star math teacher who has dedicated herself to making math fun for all of our middle schoolers. She also teaches advanced algebra at 7am and recently led our school math team to its third place finish at the St. Thomas STEM Competition! But beyond her commitment to our children, Christina is an amazing mom to her three children. Anything we can do to help make Christina’s life easier will be a welcome blessing.
The Wimberly family is so grateful for all of love, prayers and gifts they have received from the St. Anthony Catholic School Family and the greater community. Thank you for walking beside them during this time and helping support baby Winter’s journey home!
