Hello! We are the Díaz family who is taking care of baby Eber. In January 2026, Isaac (7 years old) and Eber (1 year and four months) came into our custody. Issac and Eber's mother, Marlyn, and I worked together in the nursery. She was legally in the US reporting to immigration. In November of 2025, she was arrested and deported to Venezuela. Even tho she did not have a criminal record it ended with leaving her two children behind when ICE refused to let her take her kids with her. Isaac was in our care for four months before he was granted permission to return back with his parents in Venezuela. Baby Eber is still here with us not knowing when he will be able to return to his parents' arms. This whole situation has made a big change in our lives personally, emotionally, and economically. My husband Miguel and I are in our 50s. We are both US citizens. Although we have 3 children who are in their twenties, having to take care of two small children has given me the experience of motherhood again at this age. It has been impossible not to love baby Eber since he is so tender and loving with me. He always calls me "Mama" and I love him as if he were my own baby. I give him all my love and attention every day and will continuously do so until the day he can be reunited with his family. He had to get a surgery for a mass removal that grew in his left lung which called for many medical appointments. Lately, it’s been rough few months since my husband has not earned enough to cover the most necessary expenses including those of the baby. I had to quit working due to Eber’s medical condition leaving my husband Miguel as the provider. He works in construction and has also notice a shift with the current situation with immigration. Eber's parents cannot help financially due to their situation in Venezuela. We love baby Eber and we will continue to take care of him, we just need a little help. We will continue to provide for his wellbeing and find a way for him to return to his parents and siblings. This GoFundMe is to help with Baby Eber's expenses while he is here in the U.S. and his journey back to his parents. Thank you so very much for caring about Baby Eber and families separated by ICE. This has been a heartbreaking experience on so many levels, but the response we’ve received from people who read the news story about Eber have really given us so much strength to continue on. Thank you from the deepest depths of our hearts and may God bless you and your families for your compassion.

Hola!
