Update from Cam’s dad ♥️ (From Matt’s Facebook page)

My sweet baby boy, Cameron Matthew Carlin, passed away on Monday, October 13. He passed quickly and peacefully on my chest. It was the toughest thing I’ve had to go through, and I’m privileged to have been with him in his first imperfect breath, and his last imperfect breath. Annie and I sang him songs as he rested in my arms until his curtain call.

I am so fortunate that I got to be Cambo’s daddy for the past 18 days, and I’m so glad I got to hold him in the end. I didn’t know how to handle the end, but he did. He was my Teacher and my Captain. I stood by him as his First Mate for as long as he would have me, for as far as I am currently able to go. He was noble and brave, and he won all the nurses’ hearts in his 18-day stay at the NICU.

I wish I could have introduced him to more people because I was very proud of him. I still am.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in the various ways over the past 18 days. Annie and I are very grateful. We will be celebrating his life this week and for years to come.

Our newest member of the family, Cameron Matthew Carlin, was born via c-section on 9/26/25 after what was thought to be a routine 37 week ultrasound. After a terrifying 36 hours, Cam is now at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in critical condition with infantile hydrops. The doctors and care team are doing everything they can to figure out answers as to why this has happened to our sweet boy.

We know he will need heart surgery and that this will be a long extended stay at the hospital with many challenges and unexpected expenses.

This will be a very long road for Annie, Matt, baby Cameron, and his sisters Amalia and Georgia.

We are collecting funds to help the family cover medical costs, food, and gas.

We appreciate all of the love, prayers, and support. We just want to bring baby Cam home. ❤️
