Baby Alex HLHS Journey Fund

For those of you who are unaware, Danaisha (Miss Danni) and Miguel are expecting their third child Alex,  a baby boy who has been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is one of the most complex congenital heart defects. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 1 out of every 4,344 babies in the United States each year is born with HLHS. In simple terms, the left side of his heart did not develop.

For 3 years Danaisha worked as a lead teacher at Once Upon A Time Development Center in Milford, CT. This influenced her to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education, which she completed May 2017. The unforeseen medical diagnosis of her son led her to resign from her position and put her career on hold in order to prepare for baby Alex's HLHS journey.

After Danaisha gives birth  to Alex he will have to undergo a series of three surgeries. The first one will take place at Boston Children's Hospital during his first week of life.  Danaisha, her husband and two children will have to temporarily relocate to Boston while Alex has his surgery and recovers. At minimum they will have to stay in Boston for a month, but the full duration of their stay cannot be determined. However, we are hoping for the most successful outcome for baby Alex.

Donations will be going towards room and board, food, toiletries, travel expenses, and parking.
