Chilly Pepper is on the front lines, and we are the ONLY one standing between the slaughter truck, or death for the babies and horses that are put in front of us.
Every call seems to be a 911, as we only have hours or sometimes minutes to decide if we can save the orphans left behind, a stallion or a pregnant mare, or any other horse that is headed for slaughter. The horses we get called on do not have any other option. We specialize in the ones who are injured, old and simply have special needs, as well as the orphans and critically injured or neonatal foals.
Like every rescue, Chilly Pepper does our absolute best to save as many lives as we can. However, no responsible rescue will take on more horses than they can support or find homes for. Rescue is not cheap, but thankfully all of y'all out there who support their favorite rescue are part of the solution, and you are the reason your favorite rescue is successful.
We do not go "looking" for horses, but try to answer as many calls as we can. Sadly I do say no, but spend 24/7 trying to save as many lives as I can. Our supporters are amazing and everyone who donates makes it possible to keep saving lives.
As I post this, I am camping in a horse trailer and have 17 babies, a crippled miniature, a starved mare, 4 wild kittens and their Mama, and more babies coming tomorrow. We put the money where it is needed, and it goes to support the animals YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO SAVE!
