My brother-in-law, Ilario Lares, suffered a sudden and severe stroke and is currently intubated in the hospital, fighting to stabilize. This has left our whole family heartbroken and terrified, especially because Ilario is the sole provider for his household. Ilario is not just my brother-in-law; he is a deeply loved and respected man. He and my sister-in-law have been raising my 3-year-old daughter together, and to her, he is her “favorite dad.” His presence, his guidance, and his love mean everything to her. Anyone who has met Ilario knows he is a hardworking, humble, and truly special human being. He is the kind of person who is always there for others — now he is the one who needs help.
With him unable to work, his family is facing a sudden and overwhelming financial burden.
