Vane tiene 29 años y vive en Bogotá, Colombia. Hoy está enfrentando uno de los retos más difíciles de su vida: una lucha contra el cáncer Linfoma primario mediastinal muy agresivo que requiere de todos nosotros porque ha resistido tratamientos convencionales, cinco tratamientos diferentes de quimioterapias e inmunoterapia. Actualmente se encuentra en cuidados paliativos y en urgencia médica donde el único tratamiento realmente curativo para ella es la terapia Car-T- que solo existe en el exterior.

Ya tuvimos cita virtual con el Hospital Sanchinarro de Madrid y la Clínica de la Universidad de Navarra en Pamplona, y ya valoraron toda su documentación clínica; lo único que falta es cubrir el monto inicial para que puedan iniciar los exámenes previos y el tratamiento.

Cada día cuenta para que Vane pueda recibir esta oportunidad de tratamiento. Estamos pidiendo tu ayuda para cubrir los costos médicos que ascienden a más de 500.000€.

A finales de junio del año pasado, su vida cambió por completo: fue diagnosticada con linfoma primario mediastinal de células tipo B. Como muchas veces sucede con las personas más fuertes, decidió vivir este proceso con discreción, enfrentándolo con una fe inmensa y una valentía admirable.

Desde entonces ha pasado por 5 tratamientos de quimioterapia. Ha luchado con todo, pero el cáncer sigue presente mostrando evolución de la enfermedad.

Hoy existe una esperanza real para Vane: un tratamiento llamado CAR-T, que podría darle la posibilidad de entrar en curación completa. Este tratamiento no está actualmente disponible en Colombia, solo en España y otros países.

El costo del tratamiento, junto con los gastos médicos y de traslado, asciende a los más de 500.000 Euros. Es una cifra muy alta, pero creemos profundamente en el poder de la unión, en la solidaridad y en los milagros que ocurren cuando muchas personas se unen por una causa.

Queremos contarte quién es ella.

Vanessa urgently needs access to CAR-T therapy to save her life.

Vane is 29 years old and lives in Bogotá, Colombia. Today, she is facing one of the hardest battles of her life: an aggressive form of cancer — primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma — that has resisted multiple conventional treatments, including five rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

She is currently under palliative care, in a critical medical situation, where CAR-T therapy is her only real chance for a cure. Unfortunately, this life-saving treatment is not available in Colombia and can only be accessed abroad.

She already had virtual consultations with hospitals in Spain, including Hospital Sanchinarro in Madrid and Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona. Her full medical case has been reviewed, and she has been accepted for treatment. The only thing standing between Vane and this opportunity is the initial funding required to begin the pre-treatment tests and therapy.

Mi nombre es María Luisa Piñeros y estoy recaudando fondos para ayudar a mi amiga Vanessa. Tuve la oportunidad de conocerla a través del trabajo; trabajamos juntas en la misma empresa entre 2020 y 2023, donde desarrollamos una amistad muy cercana. Aunque ya no trabajamos juntas, hemos mantenido nuestra relación y seguimos siendo muy unidas.

La razón por la cual iniciamos este GoFundMe es porque las opciones de tratamiento en Colombia se han agotado. Al investigar alternativas, encontramos que existen opciones en el exterior, especialmente en España, que representan una oportunidad real para que Vanessa continúe luchando. Tras contactar con distintos hospitales, el costo estimado del tratamiento (terapia CAR-T) supera los 500.000 euros. Por esta razón, decidimos crear esta campaña como una forma de reunir los fondos necesarios. Yo estoy liderando la recaudación porque, además de ser su amiga, cuento con una cuenta en Estados Unidos, lo cual nos permite recibir donaciones en dólares y alcanzar a una audiencia más amplia, dado el alto costo del tratamiento.

Los fondos recaudados serán destinados directamente al pago del tratamiento médico. La intención es transferir el dinero directamente al hospital en España que Vanessa elija para iniciar su terapia. En caso de que se recaude un monto superior al necesario, el excedente será transferido a Vanessa para cubrir gastos relacionados con el tratamiento, como el viaje desde Bogotá, Colombia, y otros costos médicos asociados.

Vanessa ha autorizado que yo administre temporalmente los fondos en su nombre únicamente con el propósito de facilitar la recaudación y el pago al hospital. Mi intención no es administrar los fondos a largo plazo, sino transferirlos directamente al hospital tan pronto como se alcance el monto necesario, idealmente en una sola transacción para mayor claridad y transparencia.

My name is María Luisa Piñeros, and I am raising funds to help my friend Vanessa. I had the opportunity to meet her through work; we worked together at the same company from 2020 to 2023, where we became very close friends. Although we no longer work together, we have maintained a strong friendship and remain very close.

The reason we started this GoFundMe is because treatment options in Colombia have been exhausted. After researching further, we found that there are treatment options available abroad, particularly in Spain, which offer a real opportunity for Vanessa to continue fighting. After speaking with hospitals, the estimated cost of the treatment (CAR-T therapy) exceeds €500,000. For this reason, we created this campaign as a way to raise the necessary funds. I am leading this effort not only because I am her friend, but also because I have a U.S. bank account, which allows us to collect donations in dollars and reach a broader audience, given the high cost of the treatment.

The funds raised will be used directly to pay for the medical treatment. The intention is to transfer the money directly to the hospital in Spain that Vanessa selects to begin her therapy. If more funds are raised than needed, any remaining amount will be transferred to Vanessa to help cover travel expenses from Bogotá, Colombia, and other related medical costs.

Vanessa has authorized me to temporarily manage the funds on her behalf solely for the purpose of facilitating the fundraising process and making the payment to the hospital. My intention is not to manage the funds long-term, but to transfer them directly to the hospital as soon as the necessary amount is reached, ideally in a single transaction to ensure clarity and transparency.
