Audrey Cordray's 2024-2025 Horse Show Season Fundraiser

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Audrey Cordray and my dream is to go to the Olympics one day! My goal for this year is to make it to the Mini CET, which is at Thunderbird Show Park, at the end of show season.

I am currently 12 years old and I started riding when I was 8. I knew right away that I was passionate about riding and wanted to be a successful rider. I spend as much time at the barn as possible, riding and helping take care of the horses and ponies. I learn a lot about riding and good horsemanship from my coaches and barn friends.

Within the first 6 months of riding, I was jumping cross poles and then 2' within the year. My second year riding we bought my pony, Lulu. Lulu's registered show name is A Wish Come True. We think she’s a Welsh cross and she’s all black. Together, we showed at SSITS in the 2' division. SSITS (Saanich Shows in the Sun) is Vancouver Island’s show circuit. We won Champion for the year of 2022 in the 2' Division for the whole Island (Vancouver Island Hunter Jumper Association).

My third year riding (2023), Lulu and I showed at SSITS in the Pony Hunter 2’6” and the Pony Jumper 2’6” Divisions. For the Hunter Division, we won 3rd overall for the year and we won Champion in the Jumper Division overall for the year.

We also showed in the Medium Pony Hunter Division at Thunderbird Show Park in June. We won a lot of ribbons, including one Reserve Champion in the Equitation Class.

We bought our horse, Haddy, in July of 2023. She taught me a lot, very quickly and I started to jump very big with her fast. Haddy's registered show name is Hadassah. She is a Bay registered KWPN Dutch Warmblood.

This year, if I can raise enough money to show, I will be competing first in the .85m - .90m on Haddy in the Jumper Division. I will move up to the 1.0m and hopefully compete in the Mini CET. I will compete on Lulu in the 2’6” medium pony Hunter division at SSITS.

The costs to show are very high so I have been saving and fundraising as much as possible. I’ve been babysitting, doing Bottle Drives, selling Purdys Chocolates, doing barn chores, and I saved my prize money that I won from Thunderbird Show Park last year.

Your donation would help me make it to this year’s shows at SSITS and T-Bird and one step closer to my ultimate goal, which is competing in the Olympics.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Audrey Cordray
