Assyrian Documentary - The Battle For Existence

I am an Assyrian filmmaker based in Chicago IL. This is to help fundraise money for my latest film, "The Battle for Existence". This is a feature length documentary about the Assyrian diaspora and our latest efforts to keep our culture alive.

This school year will mark the first time that Assyrian Language courses are offered at public high schools as a World Language credit. This is a huge step forward for our community, and I want to bring this momentous occasion into the spotlight. This documentary will consist of interviews with many prominent people in the Assyrian community that had a hand in bringing the language class to fruition. It aims to give credit to the various efforts of District 219 and the Assyrian families that were involved.

Assyrians, a historically known ancient culture and civilization, are still alive today. Through the years they have been persecuted and nearly erased from the modern world. Emphasis on nearly. Today, over a million Assyrians are still prominent in our society despite the hardships of assimilation to new cultures and countries.
