Assist Toto's Emergency Care & Recovery

Updates are listed in order below:

With multiple dogs in the home comes much responsibility and varied personalities in the pack. My mom's beloved Toto has not been fully accepted in the pack and has unfortunately been the center of pack aggression in our home due to resource guarding. Toto was a Korean rescue we adopted in 2018, so he already had a rough start. We have done our best to avoid the worst, but unfortunately, this weekend an altercation occurred on 4.26.25 and ended up in the ER vet 4.27.25. He stayed overnight and is getting follow-up treatment/surgery 4.28.25. In order to proceed with treatment, I had to put a LARGE down payment/deposit on my CareCredit on behalf mom. He is currently being seen at Summit Veterinary Referral Center in Tacoma. Hopefully discharged 4.28.25 with possible further vet care needs. I am humbly asking for any pet-loving friends' support to assist in this financial burden. Below is the final invoice from Summit and continued care by Firgrove Vet.

4.28.25 - Toto will need to stay overnight for further observation and care. He will get a bandage change in the morning and will receive update. He will still need aftercare of bandage changes whether that is with the ER or if we can manage to go to another Vet. We will not know until the morning.

4.29.25 - Toto is home with a bandage and getting comfortable. Will need further bandage change in the next few days and work from there. The ER Vet bill is posted, but we still have more coming from follow visits.

5.02.25 - Follow up appointment to change bandage today with a local vet. She didn't realize the extent of the wound, so it took a bit longer. As his anxiety is clearly through the roof and/or he has a high tolerance for drugs they tried to fully sedate him with anesthesia, but he never fully went out and woke up quickly.
A drain was inserted and appointment scheduled for Tuesday. Tricky part is keeping it clean without stressing him out or hurting him or us in the process. He also got stitches that will last approximately 3 weeks (as long as it goes well). This visit tacked on a new bill right under $1k. So grand total is roughly $7000 thus far.

5.06.25 - Check-up to remove the drain. The draining stopped prior to the appointment and the vet said it's healing well, and we did good on keeping it clean. Luckily, there was no additional costs in that visit. We go back in 2 weeks to check and hopefully remove the stiches.

We also are looking into any behavior modification training options. We welcome WA state referrals.
We appreciate all those that have donated towards his care, we are so ever appreciative, and Mom sends her gratitude your way.
