Ashlie Campbell recovery fund
Donation protected
On April 5, 2018 at 6:30am, Ashlie Campbell, a 24 year old mother and exercise rider, was severely injured during Del Mar morning training when the horse she was riding spooked leaving her to hit the ground while she still held to the reins. Managing to get to her feet The startled horse then pulled away and struck her full force with both hind legs directly into her abdomen. Paramedics Took her to Scripps La Jolla Trauma Center where she was in need of immediate abdominal surgery. A simple scope procedure turned to an Open exploratory surgery. Finding she had a lacerated large intestine, a lacerated and bleeding right kidney, obstruction of the bowel and colon, 200ml blood loss, and a complete tear off of muscle from the hip bone, along with a bruised sternum and rib cage. Still currently in the trauma center for another 3 - 5 days with an expected recovery time of 4- 6 months. She is currently not able to exercise her normal morning mounts nor her private western clients in the afternoons. Assistance is greatly needed as her income will be severely effected due to this accident. Any amount will help - your kindness and concern is greatly appreciated. God Bless.
