Flood 2024 Asheville Area Friends and Family Fund

Our friends and family are experiencing an unprecedented climate disaster in Western North Carolina. The devastation from the flood is going to take years to recover from, and they need to be supported by the surrounding community. To say the least, for the friends and family in Asheville working in the community to pick up the pieces and care for each other, the situation can be overwhelming and demoralizing.

Below are a few recommendations for donations to organizations who know what they are doing and are excellent with direct action mutual aid. They need support and volunteerism to continue helping.

Another option is to give to this GoFundMe, and we will direct the funds to supplying people we know personally, who are in need or who are providing/distributing water, food, fuel, and basic necessities to the communities near them. We lived in Asheville for many years and have ties with most of the affected areas in WNC. Should you wish for us to distribute funds through our channels, please consider contributing to this GoFundMe. Now that travel has improved a bit, we are visiting with drop-offs when we can, volunteering when we an, and supporting people with Venmo hits from afar. See updates for current info.
