Earth Keepers, Caherconnell

My name is Dennis Daly or ‘as Gaeilge ’ Donnacha Ó Dálaigh – in Irish this name is associated with bringing people together. I have been dedicated to bringing this land to another level of healing for over 20 years and consider myself an Earth Keeper. Over the years I have evolved to a new way of relating to the land and have committed to the creation of healing spaces. I recognize we are moving into a time of collaboration and it is with this in mind I am asking for your attention and support in creating a Spiritual Emergency Centre to support people moving through the times we are in.

In this phase I am organizing this GoFundMe to raise capital to build a Traditional Irish Dry Stone Built Lodge and supporting structures on my land in Caherconnell where the three counties Cork; Kerry and Limerick meet. The purpose of the lodge is to provide a healing space to connect back in to the ancient ancestral wisdom of this land and of the island of Ireland. The lodge will be below ground level with the roof above ground, so entering into the lodge will provide holding within the Earth’s vibration. In this room of intentional prayer ceremonies will be facilitated to support people’s healing. Humanity has reached a crisis as many have lost contact with themselves and to nature. The feeling of isolation and separation has become acute and people are finding themselves in spiritual emergency. The Stone Lodge and the land will offer a connection to inner wisdom to support people to remember that they are not alone. Through stepping in to the lodge you are making a commitment back to yourself and so rediscovering that connection that has been fragmented, to nature and to your essence. Stones are known as The Bones of the Ancestors. Stones have seen the birth, destruction and rebirth of the earth many times and so hold great wisdom. Therefore stone as container has the capacity to share this wisdom and insight to your soul’s purpose and why you chose to come here. This project will be affordable, inclusive and sacred to all people and the lodge will be a sharing space of wisdom and knowledge.

The Belly of the Dragon: Globally every culture resonates with the energy of the word Dragon. Dragon energy occupies the ley lines that surround the planet and is a powerful frequency. The Dragon energy is an active force in giving and receiving which creates balance and supports healing. Dragon frequency is active within the land at Caherconnell and this wisdom is key to this project coming to fruition.

Funding:
The Stone Lodge: I am employing Ken Curran (EarthStone.ie) Ken is dry stone expert builder and tutor, who has worked on many dry stone projects as a mason and tutor in Ireland, Europe and North America. Ken is also a co-founder, trustee and tutor with The Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland (DSWAI).
The inner circle of the lodge will be 16 feet in diameter and the will be 16 feet floor to ceiling. The entrance will be east facing and at the other directions, North, South and West it is planned that one stone can be removed and replaced during sweat lodges. A stone on the top of the build will also be moveable and has a twofold purpose, as a portable chimney to allow for a small stove during ceremony and as an invitation to spirit into the healing lodge. 120 tonnes of stone from a local quarry 11 miles away has been sourced to complete the stone lodge. Local sandstone with its earthen colour will be utilised with integrity for the build in collaboration with the land.
The supporting structures: these will be 4 refrigerated containers which will incorporate accommodation for up to 30 people, a communal kitchen, bathrooms and showers. The hope would be that these would be as carbon neutral as possible with solar panels to be installed. Where this electricity supply runs low I would install an electrical junction box to supply the site especially during the colder winter months. Providing a comfortable, warm and nurturing space is essential to give people a greater sense of safety and holding.

The amount I am requesting to support the building of this phase is €150,000. This is to cover the stone mason; stone and other materials for the lodge; electrician and plumber; machinery to dig the site; refrigerated containers; sanitary system; kitchen, bathroom and shower facilities; windows and doors for the units; to kit out accommodation; stoves and heating system for the containers; and miscellaneous. The budget is genuine and solely for the purpose of the project; any surplus will be put towards the phase three of the project at Caherconnell, a circular ceremonial room for larger sittings.

Phase 1: What is already in existence on the land:

Sacred Forest: There are 17 acres of forest on the land which was planted 24 years ago initially as a cash crop. Over time I recognized the true purpose was not to take from the land but to allow the sacred nature and beauty of the trees to exist and so a symbiotic relationship unfolded. This was a turning point in my own spiritual awakening at a deeper level. It is now a sacred space for people to retreat to, as the forest provides deep stillness, shelter and tranquility

Medicine Wheel: The medicine wheel on the land is a Cherokee Medicine Wheel and was created in 2011 which is a powerful healing space that guides you back to your intuition and connection to Spirit. It holds powerful energy as it is aligned with ley lines and is located above the existing willow sweat lodge; this was constructed as a dream lodge and gave insight into the next phase at Caherconnell.

The Labyrinth at Caherconnell: This has been in existence for 10 years and is a representation of the Divine Feminine. The Labyrinth has a single path winding toward the centre; this path is visible at all times. Representing growth and transformation a Labyrinth can offer a sense of clarity, peace and serenity as each step takes you closer to yourself.

Pyramid Hut: This structure was installed on the land in 2016 as a representation of the Divine Masculine. The roof was built to same specifications as the pitch of the Great Pyramid of Giza to amplify these energies. It is a permanent structure and is 16 feet sq.
