Regrettably, a very dear friend and family member has reached a point where she is in desperate need for assistance from our friends, family, and acquaintances to help pay for attorney services.

She is a hardworking, and loving mother finding herself cornered, having to defend herself and her young children from a horrific domestic violence situation due to the failures of our legal system. This is a last chance plea for help.

We urge victims of abuse to leave, to ask for help, and to speak out, yet there is little follow-up to protect them from what keeps them silent.

Courts may issue orders and parenting apps, but they do little when an abuser uses these tools to continue their harassment and inflict further harm.

My heart breaks as I witness it unfold. Im watching a woman paralyzed by fear, feeling that staying was the only way to safeguard her innocent children from his wrath. I’ve watched her muster all her strength and push through her fear to do the right thing, only to be met with systemic challenges at every turn.

She has adhered to all the rules, sought help from every available service, and begged the police for assistance in protecting her kids, only to be turned away and even threatened with losing custody if she does not deliver her defenseless children to her abuser.

She has provided irrefutable evidence of ongoing verbal abuse, substance use, and dangerous behavior towards her children, and it has all been overlooked by the system.

She has no option but to seek counsel to bring these issues to light, but as a single mother navigating our economy, the costs are unattainable.

To protect her from further retaliation, I kept her name out of this message, but it is not a secret. If you know me personally, you likely already understand the situation, as I have not been quiet about it.
